Greetings from Nashville, TN!
Hello everyone.
It’s good to be here! I came here in hopes of learning more about myself through my writing and let my thoughts flow through my fingers. I guess it would be prudent to somewhat properly introduce myself in this post.
I hail from Seoul. DOB 04/21/1996. My parents and I emigrated from South Korea to the United States in October of 1997. Aside from a brief stay in Orange, California as a kid (about a year) — I have always called Nashville and its surrounding suburbs, my home.
Antioch, Mount Juliet, Murfreesboro, Franklin/Brentwood, and now Nashville.
I’m currently 24 years old, living a couple miles west of downtown Nashville.
Life after getting out of prison has been crazy, and I’m truly glad to be here as a free man. I am grateful for the support I’ve received, the relationships I’ve made. It has helped me to “uncloak” a bit — prison changed me, no doubt about that, but it wasn’t all bad. It saved me from a life of almost-guaranteed drug addiction — I’m working on unlearning many of the toxic mindsets and attitudes that I carried within myself well before my arrest and incarceration.
So many people from all walks of life have been a part of this journey of growth and exploration, and my heart is full of gratitude. I thank you.
Stay tuned my friends, there’s more to come.
Peace and love,
Isaac
